At the exhibition opening ceremony, the head of exhibition organization department of the «Sibexpocentre» exhibition complex Natalia Tretyakova delivered a welcoming speech:

It is important to note that the «Silver Babr» international competition of stone-cutting craftsmanship and jewelry was launched as a part of the exhibition. It is aimed to improving the skills of jewelers and stone cutters in the field of creating highly artistic works by conducting a series lectures by highly qualified professionals, as well as demonstrating works by recognized masters from other regions. This is a mutual exchange of experience for beginners. The objectives of this competition are to popularize Irkutsk as a regional center for stone-cutting and jewelry art. Any guest of the exhibition can familiarize themselves with the works of the contest participants.
Also at the exhibition will be held the traditional contest of children's drawings “jewelry for Mom” based on the tale of Lewis Carroll's “Alice in Wonderland”. Anyone can see the work that has passed the qualifying round and is located in the stage area.
