SibWoodExpo exhibition of the latest developments of woodworking will be held in Irkutsk

On September 11-14 for the first time in Sibexpocentre Exhibition Complex together with Deutsche Messe AG - the largest organiser of the international exhibitions of equipment and technologies for woodworking industry the SibWoodExpo exhibition will take place which previously was held under the name ‘Forest Management. Wood Working Industry of Siberia. Wooden House Construction’ exhibition.

The SibWoodExpo exhibition is an industry platform for discussion of a wide range of problems ranging from reforestation to processing and recycling, meetings of representatives of branch business, science, regional authorities and establishment of business contacts.

On September 11 at 11:00 the official opening ceremony of the SibWoodExpo exhibition will take place on the scenic platform of the first pavilion.

The business programme of the event is very saturated. It is created taking into account topical regional issues with the assistance of experts and scientists from the Federal Republic of Germany.

Mr. R.N. Bolotov, First Deputy Governor of Irkutsk Region, Prime Minister of Irkutsk Region, Mr. A. Wurst, First Vice-President of Deutsche Messe AG, Mr. E.V. Bakurov, President of the Association of Timber Loggers and Timber Exporters of Irkutsk Region, Mr. T.R. Irtuganov, Director General of the Association of the Furniture and Woodworking Industry of Russia, Ms. S.A. Fedoseyeva, Director General of Deutsche Messe Rus, Mr. A.G. Shapovalov Director General of Sibexpocentre OJSC will participate in exhibition events.

For the first time in Irkutsk on September 12 in the conference hall of the first pavilion the main event of the SibWoodExpo exhibition — ‘New Trends and Technologies in the Timber Industry Complex. Bioenergetics’ scientific and practical conference with participation of the invited speakers from Germany will take place. German speakers will share their experience and knowledge on the newest technologies of wood waste processing, production of fuel and materials on the basis of wood, current trends in development of technologies in forestry which are actively applied not only in Germany, but also across the whole Europe and also will tell businessmen how the enterprises of the forestry of Irkutsk Region can introduce and use all this. As speakers are declared: Mr. Ruediger Staib, representative of the German Center for Forest Work and Technology KWF GmbH who will submit the report on ‘New Tendencies and Technologies in Forestry’. Sergey Herzen, representative of LINCK (Germany) will share his knowledge on the topics: ‘New Trends and Technologies in Sawmill Production’ and ‘Growth Points: Bioenergy / Use of Wood Waste’. Mr. Frank Brodbeck, Professor of the Department of Biomass and Logistics of the Rottenberg Forest University will talk about the production of wood pellets and the market of pellets in Germany. The next report will be presented by Mr. Bohumil Kasal, Professor, Doctor of engineering science, Director of Fraunhofer Institute of Wood Science named after Wilhelm Klauditz with the reports ‘Latest advances in the development of materials based on wood and cellulose’ and ‘Use of wood in constructions at extreme loading.’ Also Timur Irtuganov, Director General of the Association of the Furniture and Woodworking Industry of Russia will present the report ‘Current status of the timber industry complex in Russia. Problems and ways to solve them.’

On the same day at 12.00 the ‘Instruments of state support for stimulating innovation development of the timber processing complex’ round table will take place, the State Scientific Centre of the Timber Processing Complex will hold it. The round table will touch upon the current issues of financing and supporting enterprises of the forestry complex in Irkutsk Region. Entrepreneurs will be able to obtain in one place full information about existing financing programmes, as well as assess the conditions for granting loans: rates, terms, preferential projects, etc. The programmes will be presented by: Nikolay Kozhemyako, Director for Development of State Scientific Centre of the Timber Processing Complex JSC, Doctor of Economics with a report on the topic: ‘Measures of State Support for Enterprises of the Timber Processing Complex’, Dilyara Okladnikova, Director of the Fund for Support of Small and Medium-Sized Business Entities ‘Irkutsk Regional Guarantee Fund’ will present the programme: ‘Guarantee Fund - an Instrument for the Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Business Entities’, Olga Mosina, Director of the Microcredit Fund of Irkutsk Region, Natalia Davydova, Director of the Industrial Development Fund of Irkutsk Region, Anatoly Kolyada Director of Industrial Development Fund of Irkutsk Region and Maria Kulikova, Head of the Separate Division of ‘Russian Export Centre’ JSC with the report on ‘Single Window for Support of Non-Resource Exports’.

On September 11 at 12:00 in the conference hall of the first pavilion of Sibexpocentre the III traditional Regional Forest Forum, organised by the Ministry of Forestry of Irkutsk Region will take place. There the issues regarding strategies of development of forest complex of Irkutsk Region till 2030, providing the population with wood, order of preparation and collecting not wood resources by citizens, new approaches to maintaining hunting economy will be discussed.

Also on the opening day the ‘Lesregistr. Dialogue of theorists with practicians’ round table will take place from 14:30 till 15:00 it will be held by the ‘Leskoy Complex of Siberia’ magazine - the general information partner of Sibexpocentre OJSC.

At the same time on the open area of Sibexpocentre there will be ‘Woodcutter’ demonstration performances and competition of woodcarvers.

The third day of the exhibition on September 13 is designated as the ‘Future of Siberian Forests’ Youth platform during which young specialists will discuss topical issues, offer new modern ideas for the development of the forest complex of Irkutsk Region. Within the event, two round tables will be held from 10:00 till 14:00: ‘The Future of the Siberian Forest Complex: a Look from Irkutsk Region’, during which reports are planned on the ‘Best Practices of Youth Initiatives in the Forestry Sector’, ‘Negative Impact of transport monopoly on the efficiency of the work of forest experts’, as well as ‘Innovative products of the forestry complex.’

In the programme of the exhibition many events are planned, in which specialists will demonstrate equipment for the production of timber products, conditioning and compensatory aging of wood, tools and accessories for woodworking. Moreover, they will demonstrate it in operation, as well as introduce visitors to the technical means for wood harvesting, transporting and processing.

The exhibition will be presented by several sections. Among them are: ‘Forestry’, ‘Equipment for woodworking’, ‘Wooden housing construction’, ‘New! Furniture production’, ‘Forest products’, ‘Processing of wood waste’ and others.

The geography of the exhibitors is very diverse: Irkutsk Region, regions of Russia, as well as foreign countries, including Germany, China, Estonia, Sweden and Austria.
