The ‘Industry of Beauty’ exhibition for the 15th time was held in Sibexpocentre

The most large-scale event of the exhibition this year became the first ‘Baikal Beauty Expo’ Championship on Design, Hairdressing and Makeup Art, Nail Service and Look Modeling, organised with the support of the Union of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists of Russia, the Administration of Irkutsk and the Baikal Association of Beauty Industry Enterprises.

Participants from Irkutsk and Irkutsk Region, the Republic of Buryatia and Mongolia showed their skills, talent and creativity for three days on the competition area and on the stage. Competitions were held in seven directions: nail service, hairdressing, hairdressers / stylists, make-up and decorative cosmetics, look modeling, design and packing and also within the championship there was the team competition of Fashion CITY beauty salons on the ‘Street Style’ subject.   

Each competitive work was demonstrated in the form of the bright memorable fashion show, teetering on the brink of style, aesthetics, grace and theater. Visitors of the exhibition could see the protection of works in the nomination ‘Wedding Hat’, ‘Graduation’, salon type of ‘Smoky eyes’, ‘Full fashion look’, ‘Fantasy Hairdress. Creative Image’ and many other things. 

The ‘Beauty with one's own hands’ nomination was introduced in the sections of design and packing for the first time. Participants presented the suits created on a certain subject from non-standard materials: kraft paper, film packaging material, various paper appliques. Members of the jury of this direction noted that from the most usual things contestants managed to create remarkable suits, real paper masterpieces.

Solemn closing ceremony of the Championship took place on April 7 on the scenic platform of Sibexpocentre. Contestants were handed diplomas, and winners in the ‘Master’ and ‘Junior’ categories were awarded presentation cups. All participants and prize-winners received also gifts from partners and sponsors of the event. So, the participants of the championship who took the first places in each of 6 nominations of the ‘Look Modeling’ section were handed grants on free participation in the international ‘Kolibri’ championship on eyelash extension, registration of eyebrows and microblading which will pass on September 27-30, 2018 in Moscow.  

— I want to note that the experience level of masters, their qualification and desire to develop was considerably increased — Oksana Karasyova, Organiser of the championship, Director of Avenue 11 studio noted. — If earlier, as I remember, it was necessary to persuade masters to participate in the championship or competition, now they easily respond, show initiative. That is also confirmed by wide geography of participants of ‘Baikal Beauty Expo-2018’. For this purpose we also hold the championships, we invite beauty industry stars so that experts learn new at the best, exchange knowledge, improve skills.

Traditionally, the exhibition was attended by eminent masters of the beauty industry. Georgiy Zhukov is an international master, founder and creative director of the Georgiy Zhukov Education training educational project for hairdressers, repeated finalist of the Russian Hairdressing Awards, who held two master classes at the performance venue of Sibexpocentre and demonstrated progressive male and female haircuts and popular stain techniques. Georgiy also willingly shared his experience with clients, skill and answered numerous questions of audience. In addition, he acted as a member of the jury of the ‘Baikal Beauty Expo’ championship in the ‘Hairdressing’ section and emphasized that the competition was attended by many beginners, but at the same time very talented masters:     

— In spite of the fact that many participants of the championship are very young and recently in the industry, all of them performed very worthy, and I am sure that they are waited by bright future. The main thing is to be hardworking and not to stop. Soon 20 years as I am in the industry and it is very interesting for me to watch work of young participants. They are always in search, think out and find something new, fresh perspective is very important in work. Unfortunately, today the competitive industry suffers a setback because there were many opportunities to demonstrate their works on the Internet. I want the championship to develop, because it is at such events live communication takes place, people get acquainted, share knowledge and then even begin to make friends. 

Every year the subject of modeling and correction of eyebrows only gains the relevance and demand. On April 7 Nadezhda Desyatnikova, Teacher of the Lucas' Cosmetics Company of professional cosmetics, eyebrow master with more than ten years of experience held several master classes on which she told about various technicians of coloring of eyebrows and eyelashes, made the recommendations about the choice of care cosmetics and also presented cosmetic novelties which have not yet appeared on the market. After the theoretical part, the masters fixed their knowledge on models.  

For the first time within the ‘Industry of Beauty’ exhibition the presentation of modern Spanish massage techniques, directed to the decision of various face and body problems. The whole day employees of massage offices and beauty shops could study effective massage techniques and ask all interesting questions to Natalya Maslova, Leading Expert of ‘Estmaster’ Spanish massage school about SPA technologies of Russia and Europe, Master of facial and body massage of the international level with 18 years of experience.   

Various directions of modern cosmetology were also presented at the exhibition. Daily at the stand of the ‘Mikrokhirurgiya’ cosmetology centre visitors could consult free of charge with the expert and also learn in more detail about popular injection procedures. From April 5 to April 8 the staff of the centre held 11 master classes free of charge and visually demonstrated the effect of various procedures. 

Regional nail studios, schools of manicure and pedicure in 4 days held more than 140 master classes for visitors of the exhibition, told about all most relevant trends of nail design, modern technicians of manicure and pedicure, presented different types of coverings, means of nail plate strengthening from the leading brands. Besides, the author's master classes on nail design and modeling were held by Sergey Lavrukhin, Champion of Russia and Europe on nails modeling and Anna Ugryumova, Certified international teacher, two-time world champion (Nailympics London 2013, Nailympics Asia 2013). They noted the high interest and involvement of Irkutsk masters to the process, their love to labour and high professionalism.

The highly topical programme of events was also supplemented by master classes on French techniques of epilation and sugar depilation, hair care at home, weaving of volume braids, creation of a ready image for graduation and many other things.   

The closing ceremony at which the competition results on the best exhibitor were summed up traditionally became the concluding event of the exhibition.
