The newest technologies of the construction and energy industries right now in Sibexpocentre
On May 23 in Sibexpocentre Exhibition Complex two expected and landmark exhibitions for our region – the ‘Baikal Construction Week’ exhibition and the ‘Energy Efficiency. Housing And Public Utilities’ exhibition opened.
As today energy-saving technologies are actively integrated into the construction industry, there are more and more projects based on the achievements of the two industries, so this year it was decided to hold two exhibitions simultaneously. This allows the specialists of the construction and energy industries not only to get acquainted with new technologies, but also to discuss the prospects for joint work.
Sergey Levchenko, Governor of Irkutsk Region said the words of welcome at the official opening of the exhibitions:
Today we open two exhibitions which are very similar in meaning and activities. I hope that the construction complex of Irkutsk Region will show those results which we expect from it. For last year we have set many records both on construction volumes, and on terms. For example, we have built a school in the Molodyozhny village three times quicker of standard terms. I think that we have to construct the following several schools in the best terms and with the best quality. We have invited three German universities to the ‘Energy Efficiency. Housing and Public Utilities’ exhibition this year which with pleasure came to us and want to share the experience. It is very valuable, and I advise everyone who are interested in this subject, to visit their events in order to gain experience. I congratulate everyone on the opening of exhibitions. This is a great event for Irkutsk Region which exerts very great influence on life of each person living on our territory.
Yury Shkuropat, President of the Union of Builders of Irkutsk Region emphasized in his speech that today it is necessary to deal with the modernisation of construction industry objects, construction materials and structures:
Today the regional programme of development of the enterprises of construction industry is established which already has achievements. For example, there are no difficulties with concrete, reinforced concrete, autoclave gas concrete and many other materials. However there are some positions which need to be introduced as soon as possible. It is about metal, reinforcing steel, profiles for construction. The second moment is that during a year timber has almost twice risen in price. Therefore it is necessary to analyze cost and develop production of materials. There is one more question, this is wooden housing construction in all peripheral settlements of area, and need of its development. There is work, there is a lot of work, and I think that we will succeed. Thank you all for your active participation, success in our noble field.

The Baikal Construction Week exhibition is held for more than 20 years, and every year it steadily enjoys wide popularity among construction workers and those who build and just visitors. And it is clear as the exhibition shows new technologies, is an excellent platform for advance of goods, for establishment and strengthening of business contacts. I am confident that this year within the forthcoming round tables and seminars communication of participants and work of the exhibition will be interesting and productive. There is a saying that the future can not be foreseen, but it can be built. Good luck to all of you and good work.
One of the most significant events of the ‘Energy Efficiency. Housing And Public Utilities’ exhibition will become the ‘Innovative Solutions in Smart Urban Energy in Russia and Germany’ round table which will be carried out by the German House of Science and Innovations (DWIH). Its representative Mikhail Rusakov made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony:
I would like to begin by thanking Sibexpocentre for the invitation to participate in the business programme of the exhibition. We are participating for the first time in this event and look forward to further fruitful cooperation with Sibexpocentre, including in other areas. At the exhibition, we organise the ‘Innovative Solutions in Smart Urban Energy in Russia and Germany’ Russian-German round table which brought scientists from the universities of Berlin, Stuttgart and from the research institute of Fraunhofer. Also the largest energy company E. ON will take part in it. The topic for both Germany and Russia is very important and relevant. We very much hope that this event will promote cooperation between the two countries. I also want to note that it is very pleasant for us to organize a round table together with Irkutsk scientific organisations and universities. They already have contacts in Germany, there are examples of successful joint research projects. We hope that our event will help in establishing their further cooperation. I wish you all an interesting exhibition and new contacts.

At the end of the opening ceremony on the scenic platform there was awarding of the participants and winners of the third competition among schoolchildren of Irkutsk Region on the subject energy preservation, organised by the Ministry of Housing Policy, Energy and Transport of Irkutsk Region. This year, the competition received 181 posters from 40 municipalities of Irkutsk Region. The competition was held in two stages. The winners were determined by the results of the Internet voting. Antonina Bogurova from Ust-Orda received the award for the first place and the main prize - the laptop with the tablet for drawing, her work received 1838 votes.
As part of the solution of the problems of information support of events on energy, energy efficiency improvement, we organise events for schoolchildren, directed to promoting of economical behavior model, on consumption of housing and communal services. We believe that the inculcation of the trend of careful consumption of communal services should begin from an early age, - Sergey Malinkin, Acting Deputy Prime Minister of Housing Policy, Energy and Transport said. - Therefore, the competition, which we conducted for schoolchildren this year, was aimed at pupils of grades 5-11. The best works already this year will be placed on the advertising banners of Irkutsk.
After the opening ceremony, officials went out both exhibition exposures. At this time in the conference halls the business programme devoted to the most pressing topics of the construction and energy industries was launched. In the following days, a rich programme is also planned. So, on May 24 at 13.00 in the conference hall of the third pavilion of Sibexpocentre the ‘Innovative Solutions in Smart Urban Energy in Russia and Germany’ round table organised by the German House of Science and Innovations (DWIH) will be held. At this conference, the following topics will be discussed: smart houses, smart networks, the Microgrid system, integrated engineering infrastructure (electricity, heat, cold water, gas supply), digital renewable energy, and ‘Internet things’ in the energy sector.
