The international SibWoodExpo exhibition was opened in Sibexpocentre
On September 11 in Sibexpocentre exhibition complex the annual exhibition of the latest developments of the woodworking industry was opened. Since 2018 the exhibition has been held jointly with the largest organiser of the international exhibitions Deutsche Messe AG under the new name SibWoodExpo. This year by the invitation of foreign partners the exhibition was attended by representatives of leading universities of Germany and also representatives of top management of Deutsche Messe Company who during the business programme submitted the reports on various subjects on eco-friendly, safe and hi-tech forest management.
Ruslan Bolotov, Deputy Prime Minister of Irkutsk Region made an opening speech at the opening ceremony:
I congratulate everyone on the opening of SibWoodExpo! This year exhibition is international. This is largely due to the fact that an agreement was signed with the German company Deutsche Messe. We are the region with enormous reserves of resources. Discussion is always an opportunity to find solutions in a dialogue, for this purpose round tables are planned that will be held at the exhibition.
Then Alexander Wurst, First Vice-President of Deutsche Messe AG performed:
I want to greet all participants and guests of SibWoodExpo-2018. Only for your special benefit we gathered on this magnificent event. Deutsche Messe AG is one of five leading organisers of exhibitions in Germany. More than 70 years we organise such exhibitions in which about one million professionals from around the world participate: these are both business festivals of innovative solutions, and an industrial exhibition which was attended by the president Mr. Putin, and, of course, a world exhibition on woodworking. Deutsche Messe Company is presented in more than 60 countries of the world. In the name of our Russian enterprise Deutsche Messe Rus we for the first time enter in partnership with Sibexpocentre OJSC. We are sure that the SibWoodExpo-2018 exhibition will provide to all exhibitors and visitors excellent opportunities for development of the business in the woodworking market. Colleagues, I am very glad to welcome you at this exhibition. I wish progress and fruitful work to all guests and participants.
Timur Irtuganov, Director General of the Association of Furniture and Timber Industry of Russia, said:
The exhibition gives an opportunity to bring together the most diverse representatives of the forest complex to discuss pressing problems. Despite the fact that production increases almost every year on all points, we are perfectly aware of the difficulties that people working in the forestry complex have to face. It is important to be able to use those tools that the state provides. I want to wish everyone successful work at the exhibition. Congratulations!
Then the floor was given to Svetlana Fedoseyeva, Director General of Deutsche Messe Rus:
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for being here with us! Thank you for showing interest to our exhibition. We are very pleased to be in Irkutsk. We hope that together we will develop this exhibition and conduct it both at international and Russian scale, so that the forest industry in the territory of Irkutsk Region will flourish in the same way as our exhibition. I wish everyone success and congratulate everyone on the holiday!
Andrey Shapovalov, Director General of Sibexpocentre Exhibition Centre also welcomed all the guests of the exhibition and announced the official opening:
Today is a very important day for Sibexpocentre, because after 5 years of preparation and negotiations, we finally got such a high-status partner in the field of forest management. Today we set up the pilot project of SibWoodExpo, which will begin to develop as much as possible from 2019 with the support of the Government of Irkutsk Region. From today, the joint work of our German partners, Sibexpocentre and you, dear participants of the exhibition, begins. I want to thank everyone, congratulate, share our joy and announce the exhibition open.
After the opening ceremony, the German speakers and spokesmen have communicated to participants of the exhibition, discussed all the issues they were interested in, learned about the innovations of woodworking companies, held negotiations and once again congratulated everyone on the opening of the exhibition.
Speakers have communicated to the major representatives of the forestry industry. They discussed the manufacturing strategy which will help to build houses from wood economically throughout the territory of Irkutsk Region. Also exhibitors showed new equipment. Much attention was paid to small businesses. Speakers were able to get acquainted with unique technologies, for example, with the production of decking created with the processing of sawdust and polyethylene.
Also an importance of involvement of world-class specialists for solution of such topical issues as the accelerated reforestation was pointed out. Many questions were connected with the special natural territories and rational use of those forest resources which our region possesses.
Alexander Wurst answered a question of why the reputed German company Deutsche Messe AG decided to cooperate with Sibexpocentre:
For us it is very important to share knowledge of woodworking. Our exhibitions take place in different countries of the world, and SibWoodExpo perfectly fits into their format. First of all it is connected with the fact that Irkutsk Region is very rich with resources, and here it is possible to apply the most advanced technologies in the forest industry.
On the opening day of the exhibition the III Regional Forestry Forum was held. Within it there was rewarding of ‘Phoenix’ forest service which just turned 70 years. At school pupils join forestry and receive deserved prizes in competitions.
It was noted at the Forum that the number of forest fires in different territories of Irkutsk Region was significantly decreased, and this is a very important point, since the forest industry is the basic industry for the region. Irkutsk Region is really a unique entity that has a large forest resource base - more than 60 million hectares, timber stock is 9 billion cubic meters. And the key task is the rational use of resources.
Alexander Wurst, First Vice-President of Deutsche Messe AG made the presentation of the LIGNA international exhibition at the Forum. He invited all attendees to visit this exhibition next year. The participants of the Forum expressed great hope that cooperation with German companies will give a serious positive result.
During the Forum Andrei Shapovalov presented the presentation of SibWoodExpo-2019. The main directions of the exhibition will be deep wood processing, high value-added production technologies, forest protection and restoration of forests, training of personnel in the forestry sector and fire control. He noted that for the first time during the exhibition there will be the competitions within the DEMODAY programme at which the leading forestry equipment manufacturers will conduct model works on the open forest area.
Also at the Forum the topical issues of development of the timber industry and the entire forestry complex of Irkutsk Region were raised. There was the presentation of the strategy of development of the forestry complex of Irkutsk Region, in addition, there were discussions on the investment opportunities of the timber industry complex, prospects for the development of the market of sanitary tissue products in Russia, and also new approaches to hunting management and many other things were presented.
On the same day the ‘LesRegister. Dialogue of theorists with practitioners’ round table took place, which main issues were related to the work of this system created for accounting of forest products at the collection stations, processing and shipment of wood. Speakers answered in detail all the questions that arose and gave the necessary explanations.
The business programme of the exhibition is very saturated. ‘New Trends and Technologies in the Timber Industry Complex. Bioenergetics’ scientific and practical conference with participation of the German speakers will become a key event. Besides, there will be the ‘Instruments of state support for stimulating innovation development of the timber processing complex’ round table. And also the Youth platform will carry out ‘The Future of the Siberian Forest Complex: a Look from Irkutsk Region’ round table.
